An “Open Door” day dedicated to the activities of the AZSET – AZCON School of Engineering and Technology was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).

Students from various higher education institutions of Azerbaijan participated in the event.

Welcoming the students, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev provided detailed information about the establishment and direction of the AZSET – AZCON School of Engineering and Technology.

He noted that AZSET, established under AzTU, will operate with the support of the international academic partnership platform of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), “TUM International”. The educational process will be carried out by teachers trained on the basis of the academic approach, curriculum, teaching methodology and assessment standards of “TUMint”. Study trips to the Munich campus of “TUM” are planned for students who show high results. Graduates who successfully complete the program will receive a “TUM International GmbH” certificate in addition to the state-model bachelor’s diploma of AzTU.

Aline Laucke, a representative of TUM International, who joined the event online, said that the school, which aims to train international-level specialists, will be taught entirely in English. She said that AZSET will initially offer computer science courses and presented international experience in this area through slides.

Tamerlan Alakbarli, Head of the Human Capital Development and Business Partnership Department of AZCON Holding, spoke about the career opportunities that will be created for students who have distinguished themselves with high academic results at AZSET in companies operating in the AZCON Holding ecosystem.

Latifa Nasibova, a representative of AZSET, made a detailed presentation on the admission procedures. She said that the AZSET program is intended for students who have completed the first year of relevant educational, natural, technical and technological specialties of higher education institutions in Azerbaijan. Candidates who wish to apply to the program are required to have successful results in both semesters of the first year and at least B2 level in English. Registration for the internal exam for admission will be held until July 15 of this year. Successful students will be able to continue their education in this program from the second year.
